Constructed in 1939, the former Central Elementary School sat vacant for many years until the decision was made to repurpose it for use by Knox County Veterans’ Services and the Knox County Board of Elections.

The build was restored by extensive renovations to meet ADA compliance and general office use functions. The 16,000 square foot historic building was recommissioned in 2020 with an aggressive 6 month construction schedule and $3.2 million dollar budget, making this one of Modern Builders, Inc. notable projects to the community.
